NEWARK - Two men have been arrested after allegedly leading police on a chase across several towns.

Police say the pursuit started in Newark at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Newark police say they eventually backed out of the chase, leaving state police and other agencies in pursuit.

John Malta took out his phone and started recording as at least 13 marked and unmarked police cars zoomed past him on Anderson Street in North Bergen. "The cop car came like within a foot of me and I yelled to everybody 'get back, get back'," he says. "And we all jumped behind the trees."
