BRIDGEPORT - Two women were seriously injured after being hit by a car while crossing the street on Wednesday.

Police say the women were hit near the intersection of Clinton and Fairfield avenues.

Candace Moore says her 23-year-old niece and a 22-year-old friend were going to the store when they were hit.

Police say the driver stopped and is cooperating with authorities. They say no tickets have been issued yet and the investigation is ongoing.
