The dish on Long Island's restaurant and food scene.
It's been a week since Marino’s on the Bay dropped anchor at the marina-side Port Washington spot that previously hosted Acqua, Waterview, DiMaggio’s and Latitude. The 260-seat restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor tables.
Chef-owner Mario Coiro, who cooked at the Hamlet on Old Oyster Bay country club and, before that, the former Bruzells in Great Neck, characterized his menu as ”Italian seafood.” Some choices: polenta-dusted fried calamari ($11), linguine with clam sauce ($21) and shrimp scampi ($23). And since this is, after all, Long Island, the presence of a lobster roll ($26) is a must.
Marino’s on the Bay is at 45 Orchard Beach Blvd., Port Washington, 516-883-5600
