Nassau boys soccer postseason opening matchups

Four outbracket games kicked off the 2013 Nassau boys' soccer postseason Thursday, featuring Class A wins by Sewanhaka, Lynbrook, Floral Park and Clarke.

All opening round Class A games take place on Oct. 25, as top-seeded Wantagh hosts No. 16 Clarke at 2:30 p.m.

Bethpage, the fifth seed, will host No. 12 Island Trees at 3:30 p.m. Sewanhaka, at No. 13, heads to No. 4 Southside at 7 p.m. at Skelos Field.

Third seed Garden City will welcome No. 14 Floral Park at 3 p.m. Roslyn, the 11th seed, goes up against No. 6 Great Neck North at 3 p.m. at Great Neck North Middle School.

Bellmore Kennedy, the ninth seed, heads to No. 8 Cold Spring Harbor at 7:30 p.m. Jericho, at No. 7, hosts No. 10 Valley Stream North at 6:30 p.m. on Robbins Lane.

Second seed Lawrence hosts No. 15 Lynbrook at 2:30 p.m.

In Class AA, all first round matchups will run on Oct. 26, as top-seeded Massapequa awaits the winner of Plainview-JFK (8) and Great Neck South (9), which square off at 3 p.m. at Plainview JFK.

The Chiefs host either the Hawks or the Rebels in the quarters at 5 p.m. at Burns Park. All Class AA quarterfinal games take place on Oct. 30.

Fifth seed Uniondale welcomes in No. 12 Long Beach at 10 a.m. for the right to take on No. 4 Farmingdale in the quarters (TBD).

Freeport, the 11th seed, hits the road to take on No. 6 Calhoun at 3 p.m. The winner moves on to play at No. 3 Hicksville in the quarters at 2:30 p.m.

Seventh seed Syosset hosts No. 10 Port Washington at 2:30 p.m. No. 2 MacArthur awaits the winner and will host the quarterfinal game at 6 p.m.

The Class B semifinal showdown between No. 2 Wheatley and No. 3 Oyster Bay takes place at 6 p.m. Oct. 30 at Hofstra. Top-seeded Carle Place awaits the winner in the county final at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Adelphi.

Friends Academy is the automatic Class C Champion.
