Rebecca Gotterbarn set the L.I. girls record for average with a 223.5 in leading Sewanhaka District to a second straight Nassau bowling title and the Indians will be among four Long Island teams seeking a state championship Saturday at Strike N’ Spare Lanes in Syracuse.

Melissa Sherwin, who set the Suffolk record with a 223.2, leads Middle Country, which took second in its first appearance in states in 2010.

The East Islip boys captured their second Suffolk championship in three years and are after their first state title since 2008. The Redmen, led by seniors Mike Kissel and Jacob Klein, are among the favorites. Behind Brandon Soedarmasto, underdog Division captured its first Nassau championship since 1996 and will look to pull another upset upstate.
