"42nd Street," which debuted on Broadway with work by director-choreographer Gower Champion, makes a legacy statement in the summer-season opener at Gateway Playhouse. Randy Skinner, Champion's former protégé/assistant, directs with the choreography he created for the 2001 Broadway revival.
