5 more guilty pleas in Ohio highway agency probe
CLEVELAND - CLEVELAND (AP) — Three men who worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and two people who did business with the agency in Cleveland have pleaded guilty in a corruption investigation.
The guilty pleas Monday in Cuyahoga (keye-uh-HOH'-guh) County Common Pleas Court include theft, bribery, attempted records tampering and unlawful interest in a public contract. The five will be sentenced Sept. 24.
Prosecutors say there could be dozens of people hauled into court in the investigation of alleged bribes to state highway department workers in return for contracts. The alleged bribes include lap dances at strip clubs, fishing trips and other favors.
