YONKERS - The guilty verdict against former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi has reverberated through the Westchester County political establishment.
Mayor Mike Spano, who only took office three months ago, says he has already put in place new ethics standards for all those who serve at City Hall.
Putting in place new laws and new standards so that this doesn't happen again, and that will be my job as mayor to make sure this does not happen again, he says.
A jury of 12 found Annabi guilty of accepting bribe money in order to change her city council votes on the Ridge Hill development off the New York State Thruway and another project.
