YONKERS - Former Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi will not testify at her federal corruption trial, even after co-defendant Zehy Jereis took the stand in his own defense earlier today. Jereis is accused of giving Annabi nearly $174,000 in bribes over the years to change her vote on two development projects. During his testimony, Jereis said he never offered money in exchange for Annabi's support on the Ridge Hill project, and only urged her to sit down with the developers at Forest City Ratner and hear them out. Jereis also said the $174,000 he gave to Annabi was a sign of affection, and that he never offered any bribes. The trial will resume March 19.
