BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport man charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured a toddler was sentenced Friday to at least six years in prison.

Kaitlyn Gordon, 3, was shot in the buttocks when she was caught in the middle of a shootout at the corner of Poplar Street and Maplewood Avenue in 2012.

Anthony Small pleaded guilty to risk of an injury to a minor, reckless endangerment and illegally firing an unlicensed handgun.

Small's attorney says his client was not the one who shot Gordon, however, he does think the sentencing was fair given how close the shootout was to the Bryant Grammar School.
