Ballet training at the Joffrey school

This past winter I auditioned for the Joffrey Ballet School. It is my dream to go there this summer. I love to dance, and I think dancing is my life. It was very fun to audition as an educational experience. It was a little challenging, but I know if I go there over the summer it will really help me grow as a dancer. I am very excited and really nervous.

In the audition, everyone first started to stretch, and then the teacher shut the door and we did barre for about 30 minutes. We did pliés, relevés and more. Then, we went across the floor and did leaps and balances for about 25 minutes. Next, we went in the center and did combinations; we did jumps and turns for about 20 minutes. We even had our own pianist. While all that was happening, the ballet instructor was writing down things about the students.

The good news is I got in and I am attending the summer workshops now! If you have the same dream and you are ready to commit to all the hard work, check it out online: joffreyballetschool.com. It has programs all year round.
