Community Profile
Bellmore offers buyers a variety of home sizes and styles, including Capes, ranches, split-levels, split ranches, high ranches and Colonials, said John Coleman, a longtime resident and agent at the Realty Store 2000 in Wantagh.
Homes closer to the water - some on canals or with panoramic views of the bay - usually command the higher prices.
Some of the area's attractions are getting a face-lift, including Veterans Memorial Park. Randy Lane Park also has been improved with new playgrounds and refurbished basketball and tennis courts.
