Ben and Dotty Abrams honored with intersection renaming at Holland, Antin and Bronxdale avenues

Community leaders, family and friends gathered at the intersections of Holland, Antin and Bronxdale avenues to rename it for longtime Pelham Parkway residents Ben and Dotty Abrams.

THE BRONX - Community leaders, family and friends gathered Tuesday afternoon at the intersections of Holland, Antin and Bronxdale avenues to rename it for longtime Pelham Parkway residents Ben and Dotty Abrams.

Ben Abrams was a member of the Hubert H. Humphrey Democratic Club and helped secure benches along the Pelham Parkway and at Bronx Park East. His wife, Dotty, was a member of the Ruth Kizon Group for Handicapped Children as well as a member of the Pelham Parkway Cancer Society. Together, they served the community for more than 60 years.

The Abrams also operated a neighborhood luncheonette for more than 20 years on Holland Avenue.

The intersection was renamed Ben and Dotty Abrams Way.
