BETHPAGE - Thanksgiving is just a week away and food is needed more than ever this year.

In years past, Island Harvest has collected frozen turkeys, but the drive has been expanded this year to support Hurricane Sandy victims.

The organization is requesting easy-to-open non-perishable food items, cleaning supplies and baby items.

The Turkey, Emergency Food and Relief Drive is being held today from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
