Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC partners with Bronx Volunteer Coalition to host literacy event at Bronx Museum of Arts

THE BRONX - Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City is partnering with the Bronx Volunteer Coalition to encourage literacy in the borough.

A student literacy event was held at the Bronx Museum of Arts Saturday as part of National Mentoring Month.

Organizers say the focus of the event is to get more Bronx residents to become mentors and encourage local kids to read.

Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors more than 3,600 children throughout the city.
