Clinton to "Late Show"
Amazing! I can't believe this. But I'll try: Bill Clinton will be on "Late Show with David Letterman" on Tuesday!
Now, let me see if I've got this straight.
Prez Obama on Monday.
Bill Clinton on Tuesday.
Let's hypothetically work out the rest of the week's bookings...
Jimmy Carter on Wednesday...
Al Gore on Thursday...
Hillary Clinton on Friday....
Al and Hill will be the best - plenty of jokes about the job that got away.
But seriously, folks.
This is amazing.
(What's the payoff? Dave's getting a couple nights in the Lincoln Bedroom? )
(And whatsa matter? There's no one out there to promote a new movie, for cripes sakes?)
Enough of my gas. Here's the release:
"Former President Bill Clinton will visit the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Tuesday, Sept. 22 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
" This marks Clinton's sixth appearance on the LATE SHOW. He last appeared on the broadcast exactly one year ago, Sept. 22, 2008, with previous visits on Sept. 4, 2007, June 16, 2005, Aug. 3, 2004, and Sept. 11, 2002 (the first anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks). He is promoting the 2009 Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, which will take place in New York from Sept. 22 through Sept. 25. The Clinton Global Initiative is a forum which brings together global leaders to address world problems such as global public health, the alleviation of poverty and resolving religious and ethnic conflict."
