Despite its name, The Olde Pub Bar & Grill is actually quite new. It takes over the Bellmore space that last housed Lincoln Station and, before that, Clearwater Charlie’s.
General manager Stephen Dixon described the place as having an “Irish pub feel” with wood floors, some lounge couch seating and flat screen TVs, for watching the game of the moment.

Say good morning to the Morning Rose Cafe, new for breakfast and lunch in Bellmore.
Owner Rose Tzanetos said she wanted her place to have a homey B&B ambience. White wainscoting, pale green walls and soft background music play into that. The new Lincoln Station Bar & Grill in Bellmore seems to be off to a fairly auspicious start. The handsome tavern, with old fashioned checkered cloths and leather banquettes, offers appealing prices — especially its $16.95 prix-fixe, available Sunday to Thursday nights.

I’ve been having a tough time with corned beef lately. Is it me, or has corned beef just gotten too lean? A few months back I ordered a sandwich at Regal Deli in Plainview, requesting that it not be extra lean. What I got might not have been extra lean, but it was pretty darn lean. I learned my lesson: if I wanted a fatty sandwich I was going to have to ask for it.

Clearwater Charlie’s, the ultracasual Bellmore restaurant with the motto “Eat it and beat it,” has closed. When it opened last year, it was the source of a more than respectable lobster roll for only $10 as well as fine soft corn fish tacos, three for about $5.
