Cinque Terre, the long-awaited restaurant now in the former home of Panama Hatties, is a warm, traditional addition to Long Island's ever-growing number of Italian spots.
It's decorated with evocative photos of the Cinque Terre, five towns that cling to the dramatic coastline between Genoa and Pisa. But this Cinque Terre is more generally Italian than specifically Ligurian.

Huntington Station just got its own branch of Pollo Campero, an international Latin chicken chain that originated in Guatemala, with U.S. corporate headquarters in Dallas. Other Long Island locations include Hempstead and Bay Shore.

The area’s newest P.F. Chang’s China Bistro -- at Walt Whitman Shops -- joins the first, in Westbury, and the recent launch at Smith Haven Mall.
What you will find on the menus of both the Lake Grove and Huntington Station restaurants, but not at the older Westbury branch, are sushi items such as a spicy tuna roll ($8.95) and California roll ($7.95).

Long Island's ever-expanding cadre of specialized burger spots has a new addition: Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar. The first branch of the chain to hit New York just opened Tuesday at Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station.

Brooks Brothers is exploring opening a restaurant near its iconic retail store in Manhattan.
The clothier, which introduced ready-to-wear suits, started in 1818 and has garbed 39 U.S. presidents from Lincoln to Obama. The planned restaurant from the company that first brought you the pink dress shirt is, of course, a steakhouse.

Only four more weeks for the indoor G&G Huntington winter farmers market. This Sunday, Heirloom Vegan Eatery from Williamsburg, Brooklyn will be serving a selection of their entirely meat-free specialties, among them vegan gyros and souvlaki, pulled “pork” sandwiches, kale chips and Tater Tots.
