Another waterfront restaurant has rebounded and rebuilt in the wake of superstorm Sandy. VIEW in Oakdale just reopened following a major repair and restoration. The dining spot is known not only for its New American food but also for its outdoor dining and nautical vistas.

Kyle Strong Romeo is the new executive chef at Stonewalls restaurant, situated at The Woods at Cherry Creek golf course in Riverhead.
He succeeds Guy Peuch, who established the restaurant a decade ago. Peuch (shown above in the Stonewalls dining room), a veteran French chef who also starred at the former Inn on the Harbor in Cold Spring Harbor, has retired.

Barely a month after it opened in the former home of Brooks & Porter, Savoy Tavern has a new chef and a revised menu. Kenneth Pulomena, who saw the kitchen through its opening, has been replaced by Alexis Trolf, formerly of Caffe Laguna and Swingbelly’s in Long Beach.

West East Bistro in Hicksville has lately undergone a few changes. The place is now called West East All Natural Bar & Bistro and has a new executive chef — Jay Jadeja, who co-owns the place with Danny Wu. Jadeja is also chef at the Cedar Beach Bar & Grill in Mount Sinai and, in the past, owned the former Wildflower in Manhattan.
