Glittery and colorful, the new branch of Kashi is open in Syosset.

It's the third Kashi Japanese restaurant on Long Island. The others are in Huntington and Rockville Centre.

In full, this one is called Kashi Sushi Lounge. But, in addition to traditional sushi, sashimi and more than 50 sushi rolls, it offers plenty of the cooked fare and east-west combinations that also define the franchise.

Cafe Buenos Aires in Huntington open after nearby fire

Cafe Buenos Aires, the three-star restaurant in downtown Huntington, was open Monday, following a fire that started nearby early Sunday.

Fire officials said Sunday that the blaze apparently started in garbage in a space between two buildings on Wall Street. There was damage in the basement of the restaurant, the officials said.

Acacia, one of downtown Huntington's newer destinations, has expanded its lunch menu, which is offered Thursdays to Sundays.

Black & Blue reopening in Huntington after fire

Black & Blue Seafood Chophouse will welcome July with good news: It's reopening

The downtown Huntington restaurant has been closed for six weeks following a kitchen fire, which started in the ductwork. There were no injuries from the May 17 blaze.  In addition to the kitchen, the dining area has been renovated.

Dinner starts at 6 p.m. on July 1.
