Although life on Long Island has begun to return to normal for some residents following the destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy, others are still reeling from the loss of property, home and other necessities. In the wake of the storm, charitable groups and relief organizations have worked to help provide essentials that have recently become elusive for some – and for three days, Even Flow Bar and Grill in Bay Shore will dedicate itself to helping replenish the resources of certain rescue agencies that have been so crucial to the Island’s recovery effort.

Calling the event “Music To Heal The Soul,” Even Flow will feature close to three dozen bands, singers and performers on its stage between Nov. 16-19 (9 p.m.-12 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16; 2 p.m.-12 a.m., Nov. 17-18) in the hopes of bringing in donations of both money and canned goods for the food bank Long Island Cares, the hunger relief group Island Harvest and the American Red Cross.

Acts currently scheduled to play this  fundraiser include rockers such as acoustic guitarist Marc Morello, the offbeat Nifty Breed, punk/ metal band Half Ton Session and bouncy party crew Czech Funk. For a full list of who’s playing and when, check online at evenflowbarandgrill.com or on the bar’s Facebook page at facebook.com/evenflowbarandgrill (schedule of artists and time of sets are subject to change).

There’s a $10 minimum donation at the door, and the money collected from sales of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Miller beers will be donated at $3 a pint. Canned goods are to be dropped into the two large boxes in front of the pub’s stage – and there's no need to wait to contribute foods, as canned edible donations will be accepted all week through the weekend until the end of the event on early Sunday morning.
