A Sandy fundraiser, where eating and drinking rule the night
On Monday, Dec. 10, more than 50 Long Island restaurants and vineyards will join forces for a night of wining and dining to benefit the Long Island victims of Superstorm Sandy. The event will be held at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. In addition to wandering from station to station, eating and drinking, there will be silent auctions, raffles, prizes and live music. A toy and coat drive, too.
Everything involved — food, beverages, event space and services — was donated, with all proceeds to go to the Hurricane Sandy Long Island Disaster Relief, a joint venture of Newsday Charities, News 12 and the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.
Among participating restaurants are CoolFish in Syosset, Hendrick’s Tavern in Roslyn, Roast Sandwich House in Melville, Noah’s in Greenport and Shiro of Japan in Carle Place. Wineries and breweries include Martha Clara Vineyard, Port Jeff Brewing Company, Shinn Estate Vineyards and Paumanok Vineyards.
Tickets are $75 a person if purchased in advance and $90 a person at the door. For tickets or information, click here.
