Las Perlas Peruvian Restaurant is the newest addition to the ever-expanding East Meadow restaurant scene.

I stopped in on a recent afternoon with a yen for rotisserie chicken, a specialty at most Peruvian restaurants. And was I ever rewarded here! The quarter of dark meat I got had a thin veil of highly seasoned skin overlaying juicy meat suffused with the flavor of the marinade. Fries, while not hand cut, were hot and crisp. Among the trio of sauces that accompanied the chicken, my favorite was the spicy green aji sauce. As for the salad on the plate, the house-made dressing was so good, it hardly mattered that its base was iceberg lettuce.

Las Perlas Peruvian Restaurant is at 2564 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow; 516-796-1800.
