Rockin’ Fish, which opened this past Sunday in Northport, seems to be making quite a splash, if the size of the crowd seen dining al fresco Monday night was any indication.

The seafood-centered gastro pub is owned by chef Rob Haddow, who is also chef-owner of the Crossroads Cafe in East Northport. On the Rockin' Fish menu are such items as a rock shrimp burger ($15), grilled octopus salad ($15), Scottish fish and chips ($19) and whole crispy day-boat red snapper ($23). A lobster roll goes for $25.

Haddow said the restaurant is only serving dinner for the first few weeks but should start offering lunch sometime in August.

Rockin' Fish is at 155 Main St., Northport, 631-651-5200.
