Law firm and elderly in craft project
Every summer Jennifer Cona, managing partner of the elder law firm Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, creates a unique team building activity to bring their staff together by stepping out of their usual roles in a non work environment. On Thursday, the firm brought staff to Carillon Nursing Home, a 350 bed skilled nursing facility in Huntington, to help about 25 – 30 residents make a special art project – a “sun catcher” hanging mobile using colored beads that is hung in a window to create wall colorful patterns. Cona said “the positive results of the visits on our business and employee morale is incredible. Reinforcing the value of being a team player improves communication among the staff, builds better interaction and understanding of each other so attorneys and support staff work more effectively together.” Marla Seiden handles public relations for the firm.
