Henrik Lundqvist on contract extension: Still talking
Before the Rangers went on their brutal western swing, Henrik Lundqvist said if there was an indication that he would be distracted during the season by negotiations for a contract extension, he would put the talks on hold.
So after practice today, I asked him if there was any progress.
“I don’t have anything for you,” Lundqvist said with a smile. “We still have a few days. You can get back to me. We’ll be talking before we leave for Phoenix,” which is Wednesday.
Lundqvist, in the final year of his deal, has indicated that he wants to return, and is believed to be seeking a multi-year pact worth upwards of $8 million per season.
