COACH DARRYL SUTTER
THE MODERATOR: Questions for Coach Sutter.
Q. Can you reflect back upon last night, general impressions of Game
4 from your perspective.
COACH SUTTER: Played better in Game 4 than we did in Game 2.
Differences, missed opportunities and Brodeur's play last night.
Q. Mindset for this game, I assume nothing different for any other
road games thus far?
COACH SUTTER: Go play on the road. No big deal.
Q. Positives? Anything in particular you might be looking for early
in the next game or just the general flow is what you keep an eye out for?
COACH SUTTER: Continue to play the way we're playing. That's why
you play series. Unfortunately, we have some spoiled people that think
that everyone wins 16 in a row or something.
A little confusing to me.
THE MODERATOR: Thank you.
Q. Mindset heading into Jersey on this road trip? Kind of the
mindset of any other playoff game the club has had so far?
ANZE KOPITAR: Yeah. We feel comfortable on the road. It's
unfortunate we couldn't close it last night. But we'll try to do it on
Q. Now that the series is getting to the five-game margin, the teams
know each other as well as they're going to know each other. At this point
you know each other pretty well.
ANZE KOPITAR: Yeah, I mean, we know their strengths, we know their
weaknesses. I'm sure they're doing the same.
It's going to be interesting game, a game of inches.
THE MODERATOR: Thank you, Anze.
Q. Few hours now to reflect upon last night's game, what do you take
out of it?
JEFF CARTER: Obviously a little disappointing. Would have liked to
have got a win on home ice. But we've got to move on from that. Think
about it last night, move on, get ready for Saturday.
Q. Brodeur, Hall of Fame goalie, as good as they come. He was on
top of his game.
JEFF CARTER: He was. He did what he had to do for their team. He
made the big saves, he played well.
THE MODERATOR: Thank you, Jeff.
Q. You have a chance to look back on last night's game, what comes
TREVOR LEWIS: Oh, I think we definitely had our chances to win the
game, but we knew they were going to come out hard. They did a good job at
We got to refocus and prepare for Game 5.
Q. Martin Brodeur, future Hall of Fame goalie. Looked like he was
on his game last night.
TREVOR LEWIS: Yeah, he played really well. He stopped a few
breakaways. We hit a couple posts. But he's a great goalie. We know he's
going to do that.
Q. Again, confidence remains high, as it should, up 3-1?
TREVOR LEWIS: Yeah. I mean, we know the fourth game is going to be
the hardest. It's the Stanley Cup Finals here. It's pretty tough to
sweep. We got to make sure we're prepared and get ready for Game 5.
THE MODERATOR: Thank you, Trevor.
Q. Justin, reflecting a few hours now past Game 4, put last night's
game into words as you saw it.
JUSTIN WILLIAMS: Elimination games, I don't know, the teams you play
against are there for a reason. It's not supposed to be a sweep all the
time. You're not supposed to win every game.
That's when their character comes out, when their backs are against
the wall. They played a great game, battled hard. We just didn't quite
Q. If you look at the positives from the Kings' perspective last
night on the ice, what are the things that come to mind that you liked?
JUSTIN WILLIAMS: Well, what I liked is our power play moved around
pretty good. We had ample opportunities to score and get ourselves a lead.
We weren't able to do it. The power play's going well.
On the other side of it, I don't think we were as good as we could be
in the neutral zone, defending the rush. We're going to get better at
Q. Finally, familiarity with the Prudential Center, a couple games
under your belt there. Does that help compared to the last time you got on
JUSTIN WILLIAMS: I don't think so. I think we just play every road
game the way we have throughout the season here, throughout the playoffs.
We just don't let any distractions bother us. We go in, we play our game.
We know the Prudential Center's going to be rocking, just like when
we had to go back to Phoenix and play Game 5, go back to Vancouver and play
Game 5. The arena's are going to be rocking and we'll have to be ready for
THE MODERATOR: Thank you.
