Report: Peyton Manning to visit Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins
The courtship of Peyton Manning is about to continue with in-person visits by the biggest-name free agent in NFL history.
According to the Denver Post, Manning will visit Friday night with the Broncos before meeting with the Arizona Cardinals and then the Miami Dolphins. It's uncertain if Manning will make additional visits, since 12 teams have contacted his representatives about a potential deal for the future Hall of Fame quarterback. The Jets are one of those teams interested.
Mike Klis and Woody Paige report that Manning will visit with former Broncos quarterback John Elway, now in charge of the team's football operations, as well as head coach John Fox and general manager Brian Xanders. Klis and Paige cite sources saying that Manning has subsequent visits planned with the Cardinals and Dolphins, both of whom have been mentioned as favorites to land Manning.
The Colts released Manning from his contract on Wednesday, a day before he was due to earn a $28 million roster bonus.
