Hofstra's Jamal Coombs-McDaniel done for season
Hofstra basketball coach Mo Cassara confirmed that Jamal Coombs-McDaniel is done for the season with a knee injury.
Coombs-McDaniel, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, sat out last season after transferring from the University of Connecticut. Coombs-McDaniel was part of UConn's NCAA championship team in 2010-11. He averaged 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in two seasons.
Coombs-McDaniel was expected to be an important player for Hofstra, but hasn’t played this season due to the knee injury. Coombs-McDaniel was suspended for the first two games of the season due to a violation of team rules.
