Mark Jackson could coach, but should manage

My Friday newspaper column primarily is about the various New York connections for this year's NBA playoffs . . . on TV, not on the court, of course.
I'm all for Mark Jackson being named the Knicks' coach, but I'd rather see him take a front office position in which Donnie Walsh could mentor him, then hand over the keys in three or four years.
It worked for the Giants. They won it all...
