5 schools reopen in Newtown

Students say that teachers spoke to them about Friday's mass shooting first thing this morning.

NEWTOWN - Five schools in the Newtown district reopened today with a heavy police presence.

Students tell News 12 Connecticut that it was a very difficult day for them and their families, but that they did feel safe in school. Police officers were stationed in hallways before heading outside before dismissal.

The students also say that their teachers spoke to them about Friday's mass shooting first thing this morning.
