Cablevision's 3rd-quarter profit more than triples

Cablevision Systems Corp., the largest cable television operator in the metropolitan area, said Tuesday third-quarter profits more than tripled on better results at its cable TV systems and networks.
Bethpage-based Cablevision said net income was $98.9 million, or 33 cents a share, compared with a profit of $30.9 million, or 10 cents a share, in the same period last year.
