DIYers brighten up a dining room
Glen J. Beck and Brenda Festo-Beck, a director and actor, respectively, didn’t have a large budget when they moved into their new home in Centereach. Luckily, Beck had experience decorating on a budget, thanks to his work as a director for the BroadHollow Theatre Company. “Brenda’s an actress,” says Beck. “That’s how we met, working on ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ In a small theater, you have to do a little of everything, and I’d done some sets, and she liked what I’d done.” Here’s how the two DIYers combined inherited items with great finds for a new dining room for themselves and 7-year-old Christine Festo.
