The Fairway Market grocery chain will open its new store in Lake Grove on July 23, company officials announced Friday.

The 50,000-square-foot store -- the first Fairway in Suffolk County -- will serve as a food anchor in the DSW Plaza at 3200 Middle Country Rd., joining major retailers such as the DSW discount shoe store and Toys R Us.

The new Fairway Market location, directly across the street from the Smith Haven Mall, will have its grand opening for the public at 10:30 a.m. Thereafter, the store will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.

The Lake Grove store, which Fairway officials said created 400 new jobs, will offer traditional, organic and specialty foods, fresh produce, seafood, an on-the-premises bakery, and cheeses from around the world, among other items. The food retailer has other Long Island locations in Westbury and Plainview.
