Bay Shore company develops 3-D virtual Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony, or at least an approximation of the Knicks basketball star, is now on hand to offer tips navigating a new high-end children’s sports store thanks to Bay Shore’s Tensator Inc.
Anthony is the first celebrity to make an appearance as a Tensator Virtual Assistant, a 3-D, life-size image projection and audio system that, until now, has been used mostly in airports to provide travel and security information to travelers.
Tensator, which is part of the Tensator Group, based in the United Kingdom, developed the virtual Carmelo Anthony for Manhattan-based Rookie USA as a way for the retailer to captivate shoppers’ attention and provide information about the store and its products, the company said.
