The Long Island tech community will gather Monday to host a fundraiser for victims of superstorm Sandy.

The event, Technology Cares for Long Island will take place at Four Food Studio in Melville from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The Long Island Software & Technology Network and the Long Island chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals are organizing the function.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring supplies in the form of soap and other toiletries (food and clothing cannot be accepted) or a monetary donation made out to Island Harvest. All donations from the event will go to Island Harvest.

Four Food Studio will be offering a half-price cash bar and free appetizers at the event. Attendance is open to everyone and free of charge.
