NYS extends hours of hotline for taxpayer questions through April 15

With the April 15 income-tax filing deadline approaching, the state Taxation and Finance Department announced Wednesday expanded hours for its telephone hotline to answer tax filers’ questions.

The call center will now be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, an increase of 2½ hours. The center also will operate on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through April 15.

The hotline number is 518-457-5181.

“This is part of our continuous effort to provide a higher level of service to all of New York’s personal income taxpayers,” said Tax Commissioner Thomas H. Mattox.
