Two LI nonprofits receive $200G grants
Two Long Island nonprofits focused on addressing local housing issues have both received grants of $200,000.
The Medford-based Concern for Independent Living, and the Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead were awarded the grant by Bank of America's charitable arm in a ceremony last week.
Concern for Independent Living provides housing and other services for individuals with disabilities. The Interfaith Nutrition Network focuses on addressing issues of homelessness and hunger and runs a network of soup kitchens and homeless shelters on the Island.
As part of the grant program, employees at both nonprofits will also receive leadership training.
