An Old Westbury man has been charged with running a $7.5 million mortgage scam, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Discount retailer Daffy's Inc. is going out of business and will be shuttering its store doors through the fall, the company announced Monday.

Manufacturing in New York State grew modestly in July, according to the Empire Manufacturing Survey, a monthly report of state manufacturing released by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
