Michael A.L. Balboni of East Williston has joined Rivkin Radler in Uniondale as of counsel. The former New York State senator and assemblyman takes on this new role in addition to serving as founder and managing partner of Redland Strategies in Manhattan.

Joseph Armao of Queens joins Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara & Wolf in Lake Success as an associate in the no-fault practice. He held a similar position at Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo in Manhattan.

ACCOUNTING

Helen Liao of Dix Hills has joined Marcum LLP in Melville as a partner in the firm's assurance services division. She was a partner with Radin, Glass & Co. in Manhattan.

RELIGION

Ben Herman joins the Jericho Jewish Center as its new religious leader. The rabbi is relocating from Tucson, Arizona, where he was assistant rabbi of the Anshei Israel synagogue.
