Could job prospects for this year’s college grads be getting just a tiny bit brighter?

With graduation approaching, the percentage of employers expecting to increase college hiring jumped to 37.6 percent for April/March, up from 26.8 percent in February. That’s according to a national survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, with 177 respondents.

Indeed, Thomas J. Ward, Jr., director of the career development center at Adelphi University, says he has seen “a slight uptick in hiring in the areas of accounting, business development, customer service, and financial services.”

Also, in the past three weeks, he says, his department has seen more business services, retail, and insurance firms looking to fill openings in their management training programs.
