Local officials say they hope the new shopping center, located in Garden City, will usher in more retail development, especially with the expansion planned for the nearby Roosevelt Field mall.

The 25,000-square-foot retail space will feature upscale brands of women's, men's and children's apparel, shoes and accessories. The selection will include merchandise manufactured for the outlet and items from Bloomingdale's full-line stores. The store will be the chain's 11th outlet location.

Bloomingdale's has full-price locations in the Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City and the Shops at Walt Whitman in Huntington Station.
