After the recent release of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom placing Laos on their Tier 2 "Watch List," Open Doors announces it remains committed to eliminating the persecution of Christians in Laos, but asks for the support and help of free Christians in order to continue this important and necessary Crusade for Christ by donating and helping to reach the goal of $10,000 in donations in May.

Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) May 04, 2016

After this week's release of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom on May 2, 2016 placing Laos on the Tier 2 "Watch List," Open Doors is renewing their call this month for support in their international efforts in Laos to bring the Gospel for Asia. Open Doors is setting a goal of $10,000 in donations for May that will go toward Bible development, community restoration and women and children's care in Laos and other similarly persecuted regions around the world. Laos is one of several of countries that continues to remain under the often strict rule of a Lenin-Marxist communist command. The Laotian government strictly watches over and discourages contact or influence from Westerners and global Non-Governmental Organizations.

The country of Laos has 7.1 million citizens, of which 192,000 Laotians are Christian despite the risk of persecution by the communist government. The Laotian Christians are regularly targeted by local authorities, including arbitrary jailing and isolation.
Through direct donations of items and talents, the mission of Open Doors is focused and hard at work; learn more about their work and mission in Laos and other countries by visiting the Open Doors website.
