Eisenberg & Associates have settled wrongful death cases filed against a California doctor regarding allegations of prescribing opiates and narcotics without a legitimate medical purpose.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2015

Eisenberg & Associates have settled wrongful death cases filed against Dr. Lisa Tseng on behalf of families who lost loved ones. (Orange County Superior Court case no. 00573802.)

Dr. Tseng operated a storefront medical clinic in a strip mall in Rowland Heights, east of downtown L.A., where she allegedly sold prescriptions to patients for opiates and other addictive drugs. Legal allegations against her included prescribing opiates and narcotics without performing appropriate medical examinations or diagnostic tests.

"This is a landmark case in California where a doctor who illegally prescribed opiates for profit was exposed. This should send a message to deter the 'pill mills' from illegally prescribing opiates and narcotics without a legitimate medical purpose," said Irvine attorney Larry Eisenberg, who represented multiple families in wrongful death cases filed against Dr. Tseng.

The families who endured the experience of losing a loved one have waited patiently for the justice system to respond to the allegations of professional misconduct of the physician. These allegations included that Dr. Tseng continued to prescribe deadly combinations of opiates and other drugs, even after she was advised that several of her patients died from prescription drug overdoses. It was further alleged that her illegal prescribing pattern constituted a conscious disregard for the health and well-being of her patients.

Eisenberg & Associates have over 30 years of legal experience representing plaintiffs and families in cases involving serious injuries and wrongful death.
