San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 09, 2015
The Corporate Travel Administrator Certificate program, scheduled for six consecutive Saturdays, will begin October 17, 2015 and the Corporate Travel Agent Certificate program is scheduled to start in January, 2016. Both programs were created by experienced travel leaders with up-to-date knowledge, for the most comprehensive training in the fields of Travel Administrator and Agent. Program topics range from career opportunities to business practices and travel technologies. All classes will be conducted on the SJSU campus.
Travel is more complicated than it used to be. Increased options, complex cost structures, new regulations and security concerns require more comprehension and skills to efficiently make travel arrangements. Companies attentive to cutting costs and safeguarding their financial success depend on administrative travel professionals to establish travel policies, identify preferred vendors, manage and negotiate travel services.
SVBTA is a not-for-profit professional organization, whose goal is to provide an educational forum for exchange of ideas while promoting member growth and development. SVBTA Academy, a department created for the educational advancement of its members and our community, is teaming up on this project with SJSU?s College of International and Extended Education (CIES), supporting students as they begin their careers in the travel industry. San José State University, which is well known for its innovative programs, continues to build on collaboration opportunities through CIES?s non-credit programs. Those interested in starting or changing their careers to coordinating business travel for an organization, or being an agent for a travel management company will find this a rewarding career. Through these programs, they can gain skills that give them a competitive edge in acquiring positions in the travel industry.
The travel industry is projected to create one out of seven new jobs by 2020. With skills gained in these courses, you will position yourself for appointment to manage business travel for a company or a travel management organization. Recent studies show that the demand is growing, with a need to fill one in seven jobs in the travel industry. To support our industry and educational goals for our area, Silicon Valley Business Travel Association is offering a limited number of Scholarships, with application available on line.
San José State University is noted as one of the top ten Universities in the Western Region of the United States and is pleased to partner with the Silicon Valley Business Travel Association for these limited and timely educational opportunities.
