Fort Dodge, Iowa is filled with diversity in the arts and the mission of the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association is to be sure it is accessible to everyone. The end of the 2015 season will include a variety of holiday concerts, plays and other art and culture events for everyone in the community, region and state to enjoy.
Fort Dodge, Iowa (PRWEB) November 03, 2015
Humbly starting in 1985 with a paper calendar of events in the area, the group then added the Oak Hill Art Festival as another venue for artist to demonstrate their talents and engage the community. Each month the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association spreads the world of art in the area by promoting the various events and activities through a variety of mediums.
Today the calendar of events is more robust with the ability to use social media to get the message out. Weekly email distributions are used to not only tell of upcoming events but to also remind recipients to keep the Fort Dodge Fine Arts up to date with their calendar. Posters with the listing of events along with Facebook, Twitter and the website are also used.
“We continue to add networking mediums that will assist us in keeping our community in touch with the arts and to expand the awareness of the diversity in our region,” says Susan Ahlers Leman, President of the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association.
Members include over 20 organizations ranging from the Blanden Art Museum to the Sonshine Singers to the Fort Dodge Symphony. Each member brings the variety and artistic values that strengthen the Fort Dodge community and the quality of life of the residents.
The 2015 year end calendar will include “Harvest Inspired Poetry” readings at the Blanden Art Museum in partnership with the Fort Dodge Public Library. The “Addams Family” and “Map My Kingdom” are performances to attend along with holiday musical concerts by Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge Area Symphony Orchestra, and Fort Dodge Choral Society.
All the upcoming events listed here and in the future can be found on the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Associations website and by providing your email to the weekly distribution lists.
