It’s all part of the April 2016 Hospital Safety Score announced by the Leapfrog Group.

Tampa Bay, FL (PRWEB) May 10, 2016

Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Florida Hospital Carrollwood and Florida Hospital North Pinellas all earned an ‘A’ grade for patient safety in the April 2016 hospital safety score. The new hospital safety scores, which assign A, B, C, D, and F letter grades to hospitals nationwide and provide the most complete picture of patient safety in the U.S. health care system, were announced today by The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog.

“Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for our patients. This A rating from Leapfrog recognizes the high level of care and incredible dedication our physicians and staff deliver every day,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, President and CEO of Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel.

Developed under the guidance of Leapfrog’s Blue Ribbon Expert Panel, the Hospital Safety Score uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D, and F grades to more than 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. Florida Hospital Carrollwood also received an A, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

“At Florida Hospital Carrollwood, we are dedicated to providing the very best in patient care in an environment dedicated to safety,” said Joe Johnson, President & CEO of Florida Hospital Carrollwood. “We are incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to excellence, and receiving an ‘A’ grade is a testament to their hard work.”

The score is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. For the first time, the Hospital Safety Score includes five measures of patient-reported experience with the hospital as well as two of the most common infections: C, diff and MRSA. For the sixth consecutive semester, Florida Hospital North Pinellas earned an ‘A’ grade.

“We pride ourselves on delivering excellent patient care every day at Florida Hospital North Pinellas,” said Karen Owensby, Interim CEO and Chief Clinical and Nursing Officer. “Receiving an A grade for the sixth consecutive semester confirms we are providing the safest care to our community.”
