Laura Powers, Chief Marketing Officer of Furia Rubel Communications Inc., will present a 1-hour workshop entitled, “Using Social Media Effectively and Ethically in Your Practice.”
The program, which will be presented twice, is part of the 19th Annual Elder Law Institute, a two-day conference offering 12 Pennsylvania CLE credits, hosted by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on July 21 and 22. Powers’ session will explore the ways social media has infiltrated the practice of law and will discuss what lawyers need to know about using social media in general and, in particular, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to market themselves.
A graduate of Vermont College of Norwich University (now Union Institute & University), Powers also attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Among her many accomplishments are the prestigious Communicator Award of Excellence from the International Academy of Visual Arts, the Web Marketing Association’s Web Legal Standard of Excellence Award and MobileWebAward, and the Summit Creative Award.
