Insurance agency features non-commissioned agents that offer dozens of quotes for affordable insurance

Generations Federal Credit Union has launched its insurance subsidiary, Generations Insurance Services. The insurance company offers auto, home, life and business insurance in a competitive-market format where consumers select the type of insurance they need and receive up to 60 bids from A-rated insurance companies such as MetLife and GEICO. Consumers do not need to be a member of the 75-year-old credit union in order to take advantage of the rates.
“Our focus has always been the financial well-being of our members and our community. But we noticed time and time again in our day-to-day operations that we have members who pay a tremendous amount of their monthly income toward insurance,” said Marcel Theriot, Managing Director of Generations Insurance Services. “This service, and its competitive rate structure, gives them the opportunity to not only find affordable insurance, but make sure the insurance rate they have continues to be competitive year after year.”
Generations Insurance Services is operated out of the credit union’s headquarters in San Antonio, but the credit union does not underwrite any policies. Rather it serves as a broker to third-party automobile, home, life and commercial lines of insurance. Additionally, Generations’ agents are not commissioned.
“The sole purpose of the insurance company is to provide unbiased, transparent advice,” said Theriot.“Additionally, it offers our members the convenience of managing their financial accounts and insurance accounts in one place.”
Generations FCU is the only financial institution in San Antonio and Bexar County to offer the competitive-market format to consumers.
