REDCOM's new Infinion IP-PBX replaces an aging Nortel hardware PBX at GNOC in Rochester, NY, enabling a rich set of business communications features.

REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a developer of innovative Unified Communications (UC) solutions, is pleased to announce the donation of Infinion UC software, a server, and VoIP phones to the Gerhardt Neighborhood Outreach Center (GNOC) in Rochester, NY. REDCOM selected GNOC in order to improve the operations of an important community organization. Infinion, installed on an industry-standard server connected to the internet, replaces an aging Nortel hardware PBX with a highly efficient software-based solution that manages the entire phone system for multiple organizations across two locations. This effort was driven by Jim Delmege, a REDCOM employee and Assistant Director at GNOC.
“At the GNOC our aging PBX began failing and we were facing a significant repair cost, so when REDCOM offered to replace the switch with its new Infinion product, we were thrilled to get a state-of-the-art phone system,” said Delmege. “With Infinion we are seeing a nice monthly savings over our previous system. We operate several departments inside GNOC and Infinion offers us great dialing and call routing options to allow us to look even bigger than we are.”
REDCOM personnel performed the complete installation and training to GNOC to make the project a success. As a stand-alone software IP-PBX, Infinion enables a rich set of communication features for GNOC, including:
- Easy web-based administration
- Voicemail to email
- Blast calling for alerts and announcements
- Meet-me conferencing, which allows staff and volunteers to conveniently conduct meetings from anywhere using a desk phone, smartphone, or PC
- Custom paging and intercom functionality
- Enhanced 911 (E911) with positioning
Designed with versatility in mind, Infinion is the ideal on-premise IP-PBX for small businesses and organizations such as GNOC, while still being powerful enough to function as a full Class 4/5 IP core for service providers.
